What makes a Nova Tow unit different from a conventional wrecker?

Conventional wreckers are often oversized, expensive to run, and hard to maneuver in city traffic. We took a completely different approach. By integrating our advanced tow equipment with mid-size trucks like the Toyota Tacoma and Chevy Colorado, we give you the essential pulling power you need, but with drastically lower fuel costs, cheaper insurance, and the agility to navigate tight urban spaces and parking garages.

What is the towing capacity of a Nova truck?

The Nova Tow unit boasts a static tow capacity of 5,000 lbs, making it fully capable of securing and towing midsize 3-row SUVs. It is equipped with a 10,000 lb electric planetary gear recovery winch for heavy-duty pulling power.

Can the Nova Tow truck fit inside standard urban parking garages?

Yes. While conventional tow trucks are routinely locked out of indoor parking structures, the Nova Tow unit features a safe operating clearance of 6' 8". This allows operators to confidently navigate low-clearance underground lots, tight residential garages, and commercial structures.

How much can I save on fuel by switching to Nova?

The Nova truck delivers a real-world working average of 12.8 MPG. Compared to a conventional heavy-duty wrecker like a Ram 4500 (which averages around 10.0 MPG), the Nova cuts your per-mile fuel costs by over 36% without compromising on capability.

Will a lighter mid-size truck lose front steering
traction when towing heavy loads?

Not at all. We engineered a custom front bumper ballast system that houses up to 550 lbs of modular steel counterweights. This completely offsets the rear cantilever torque, maintaining optimal front steering contact pressure and critical front-tire braking friction even under maximum loads.

Does the added weight cause the rear
suspension to sag?

No. We replaced outdated suspension setups with heavy-duty gas shocks and an active dynamic auto-leveling air bag system. Sensor actuators automatically adjust the rear air bags to prevent rear-axle sag and maintain the chassis rake under varying loads.

What chassis options are currently available?

We currently build on two highly capable mid-size platforms: the Toyota Tacoma (featuring front adjustable coil-overs tuned to a 3 1/8" lift) and the Chevrolet Colorado (tuned to a 4 3/4" lift).

How does the truck's design affect driver visibility?

The low-profile deck and compact boom architecture are designed to preserve clear, unobstructed outward visibility through the rear window. Additionally, the interior rearview mirror functions as a high-definition monitor, streaming a live view from a dedicated digital rearview camera.

Will the Nova unit save space on my impound
or storage lot?

Yes. The Nova parking footprint is engineered to require 15% to 20% less physical lot space than conventional heavy-duty wreckers, allowing you to optimize your valuable real estate and fit more vehicles into your existing lots.

How do I know my truck is built to last?

At Nova Tow Innovations, our production floor operates on meticulously detailed digital procedures and integrated quality assurance at every stage. Every vehicle is delivered with a complete digital build record—a permanent "birth certificate" that tracks critical verifications and component details so you have absolute confidence in the craftsmanship of your truck.
